Having a baby for the dough: yay or nay?
Whether they admit it or not, some women have babies for the purported benefits – attention, child support payments, tax breaks. I’ve been hearing 50 Cent’s latest single “Baby By Me” on the radio a lot lately, and I began to wonder – how many women will admit that they would have a baby for the monetary benefits?
I personally believe children are precious (though bad as hell sometimes) and the cost of being a mother is astronomical. It’s a huge sacrifice for a woman and her body. And it’s perfectly natural for a woman to want to be a mother (or not, if that’s her choice). I don’t want to take away from that. But let’s keep it real – some chicks use babies as a meal ticket. Whether it’s manipulating the government welfare system, getting pregnant by a baller, or being a surrogate for a couple who is unable to conceive naturally for a few stacks, there are circumstances where women have babies solely for the dough. When all else fails and the money is funny, getting pregnant may seem like the only option at the time.
So if you fell upon hard times, the job prospects are looking dim, would you do it? Would you have a baby by a 50 Cent, Diddy, or random guy with money for the checks? If you prefer to leave an anonymous comment, that’s cool. But be honest and let me know your thoughts!

I agree. I have a friend of mine who was seeing a man and had a baby by him. Well what’s so special about that. The guy is married has no job and is a so called drugged dealer. She has her own place and pays her bills on time. Even though she caught him cheating on her , she still went and had a baby by him. I know she did it for the tax write off cause that’s all she talks about and she got a car from the money she got back. Now he hardly comes around and she’s having a hard time paying the bills and she can’t take child support out on him because he has EIGHT children already. I just feel bad because I’ve been with my husband for five years and I’m having such a hard time trying to get pregnate. So to the woman who’s thinking about having a baby just for the benefits, think about the consequences
Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s crazy how your friend’s situation sort of backfired, it shows that getting prego for the dough doesn’t always work out as planned. Good luck to you in conceiving, I pray that you become blessed with a bundle of joy.
