The cyphers are the best part of the BET Hip Hop Awards. The award presentations and performances were a yawn for me, I guess one would need to be at the show to enjoy.

I’m not going to go into who spit the hardest and who was whack, let’s just enjoy the cypher. However, I will say that  Nicki Minaj murdered her freestyle so effortlessly. She needs our support. Long live women in hip hop!

See, this shit right here is the exact reason why the swine flu vaccine gets the side eye.

I think flu vaccines aren’t worth the hassle, most of the time you end up getting sick anyway. And the potential side effects, though rare, scare the crap out of me. There are non-vaccine ways to protect yourself from viruses.

1. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. This is the simplest way to avoid colds and flu.

2. Keep hand sanitizer on deck at all times.

3. Give others a pound rather than a handshake. Real talk. It’s not being rude, swine flu is going around. Who can argue against that?

4. Keep your hands off your face, specifically the eyes, nose, and mouth. You can potentially transmit germs from your hands to your respiratory system.

5. Keep your immune system strong by exercising, eating lots of fruits and veggies, and limiting dairy and meat. Drink lots of water and limit caffeine.

The BET Hip Hop awards airs tonight at 8 pm. I usually hate on BET based on principle alone, but I’m looking forward to this year’s hip hop awards. Mike Epps is hosting, Ice Cube is being honored, and performances include Jay Z, Wale, Young Jeezy, Snoop, and Fabolous.

Immediately after the show, Monica’s new reality show “Still Standing” premieres at 10 pm. I’m looking forward to this, Monica is one of my favorite R&B artists.

In the spirit of Hallow’s Eve, I’d like to know what my ladies are wearing for Halloween this year. As we know, Halloween is the one day of the year where women can be totally slutty, and its acceptable because everyone has their ass out. Some of my past costumes:

A cavewoman

A dominatrix

A sexy nerd

A female boxer

I think my past choice of Halloween costumes represent facets of my personality – assertive, cunning, tough…and nerdy. Halloween is a day where you can be whoever you want to be. What do your costumes say about you? What are you gonna be for Halloween this year?
